NJ Gov: Forrester Flip-Flops on Stem-Cells [w/Poll]

Fri Oct 28, 2005 at 11:41:09 AM PDT

In a move that could only be a response to (A) lagging poll numbers and (B) a constant barrage of attacks from the Corzine campaign, Forrester has bizarrely reversed his position on embryonic stem-cell research less than 2 weeks before the election.

More after the flip....

In a fairly surprising turn of events, Senator Jon Corzine has doubled his lead over GOP Candidate Doug Forrester, to 20 points, according to the most recent Star-Ledger/Rutgers-Eagleton poll, largely due to Katrina fallout.

As Suspected, Bush To Use Recess Appointment For Bolton

Mon Aug 01, 2005 at 07:09:11 AM PDT

CNN is reporting a "developing story" that a source has confirmed that Bush will, in fact, use a recess appointment to put John Bolton at the UN.  I know this should come as no surprise to anyone on this site, but I have to wonder why the Bushies feel so confident that this will get by the media and the American people, given the dipping polls.  We all know that the Roberts appointment was a Plame distraction, but what is this all about???

Check out the details as they come in HERE .

Corzine Event with Max Cleland, 7/28

Thu Jul 21, 2005 at 09:12:56 AM PDT

The NJ Democratic Veterans Caucus will be hosting a "Heroes Rally" on July 28th with Jon Corzine and Max Cleland. I think this is a great opportunity, not only to show support to Corzine, but to give our appreciation to Max Cleland who, as we all know, was at the wrong end of an absolutely disgraceful trashing by Repugs in his last campaign. GOP Pot Calls Kettle Black on NJ Security Funds

Thu Jul 14, 2005 at 09:43:31 AM PDT

In a desperate attempt to gain any kind of foothold in New Jersey statewide politics, the Republican party, led by their standard-bearer, Gubernatorial hopeful Doug Forrester, is calling for the resignation of the State Attorney General over the distribution of NJ's homeland security funds, which they claim is going primarily to Democratic districts.

I actually saw this on a bumper sticker the other day while at the gas station.  It was on some big Nissan monstrosity, right next to a "Support Our Troops" ribbon, of course.

I thought to myself..."Is this a joke?  Is it sarcastic?"  But then I saw another sticker on the back window that read "Kerry/Fonda '08", and I knew it wasn't.

Apparently, this disgrace is available on the mass-market, most notably at Cafe Press.

This takes the dialogue to an even lower level than I previously imagined.  How do we even hope to rationalize with people who not only think like that, but are proud enough of that thought to slap it on their cars?

I guess this isn't much of a diary, but I was so upset by this that I had to rant...
